With high winds, dry brush and beautiful weather for people to get yard work done we have seen an increase in brush fires across the county and township. Crews were dispatched at 16:04 for a brush fire in the area of Pickertown Rd and RT 202. Crews found a large area of brush on fire that started out as a controlled burn.
Remember open burning is not allowed in the township for this reason. With high winds it is easy for fire to spread. Crews from R78, E78, and E29 were on scene for about an hour and a half using about 3000 gallons of water to extinguish.
